published by GATF (www.gain.net)
The TAGA journal is a peer-reviewed journal
designed to meet the needs of the global professional graphic applications
industries and to brings together the multi-disciplinary community in further
development of printing as a manufacturing process. Graphic applications play
major roles in the reproduction of quality images, packaging and in the volume
manufacture by printing of products, such as electronics and nano technology,
The TAGA journal embraces the fundamental science and technology, application
and technology transfer and the generic problems and experience associated with
the management and implementation of graphic applications.
The TAGA journal is published in 4 editions per year in electronic format with a
minimum of 4 papers per edition plus any rapid communications. A hardbound
volume is produced of each at the end of each year.
The following is intended to give an indication of potential topics and is not
definitive scope of the journal:
- Physics and chemistry of all printing
processes
- Graphics, colour theory pre press, image
perception and separation, proofing
- Materials, new developments and
characterisation
- Engineering applications and technology
transfer
- Work flow, management tools, quality assurance
- Commercial printing
- Packaging including smart packaging and RFID
- Flexible electronics and plastic electronics
manufacture by printing.
Shared Left Border
TAGA(technical association of the graphic arts,
www.taga.org) began in 1948 to provide a worldwide forum for sharing and
disseminating theoretical, functional and practical information on current and
emerging technologies for graphic arts print production and related processes.
it is the association for the science and technology of printing and allied
technologies. as such it has been at the forefront of the move of graphic arts
from an art into a science, the adoption of manufacturing techniques to printing
production and the application of printing for volume production.
TAGA runs an annual technical conference with published proceedings in north
America each spring. It also holds specialist conferences and acts as
co-sponsors for other technical conferences around the world. it was through
this activity that the need for a peer reviewed journal was identified that led
to the creation of the TAGA journal. The association also provides guidance and
support to its 15 active student chapters around the world.
During 2004 - 2008 The TAGA journal was published on behalf of TAGA by
Swansea Printing Technology ltd, a spin out company of the Welsh Centre for
Printing and Coating, Swansea university. From 1 June 2008, The TAGA
Journal will be published by GATF, PA, USA.
TAGA Membership DOES NOT give access to the TAGA Journal but TAGA members
receive a reduced electronic subscription rate.
